Myth Busting Investors in People: Relevant and Modern in 2018 and Beyond

Investors in People, organisation development, leadership

With ever increasing competition within the Leadership and Organisation Development space, how can organisations ensure they aren’t just attracted by the latest trends and that they truly implement solutions proven to achieve sustainability, profit and growth?

27 years ago the Investors in People accreditation was launched in Scotland and since then was delivered by Investors in People Scotland. Last year our organisation rebranded to Remarkable and we continue to deliver the internationally recognised Investors in People accreditation here in Scotland.

For over a quarter of a century we have worked with over 6,000 organisations of all sizes, in all sectors and across the country to help them achieve success through the Investors in People accreditation. No other organisation can demonstrate such an impressive and well respected heritage and track record. Investors in People has become the standard in people management, despite facing stiff competition from new kids on the block; but the benefits of wisdom and experience often do just pip them to the post.

Don’t just take our word for it. Clients consistently feedback positively and our client satisfaction scores are above industry average, with an average Net Promoter Score of over 70. But of course the numbers don’t tell the whole story, clients are keen to share their stories with us too: “Remarkable has the ability to shape and change your business and improve your culture…it’s a fantastic journey”, says Martin Armstrong, CEO of Glasgow Housing Association. A sentiment that Neil McInnes, Director of Umega Lettings also echos.  “The biggest difference [since working with Remarkable] has been the energy and the buzz” he says. “Everyone believes in what we are trying to do and really fulfills their own potential. People are taking the initiative and ownership for new projects”. 5 out of 6 clients would recommend Investors in People.

So what’s behind the continued success of Investors in People that means it maintains its relevance in 2018 and beyond? Well, all of our team have enjoyed distinguished and successful careers within industry and they have been in the client’s shoes so they truly understand their motivations and their ever-changing challenges. The process of achieving an Investors in People accreditation varies from client to client – every solution is bespoke because every client is different; and we recognise that and work with the client's individual needs. And it’s not all about the badge: Investors in People is proven to increase employee engagement and retention which in turn leads to an increase in productivity. And as we face into an uncertain political and economic horizon, what better way to achieve continued organisation success and growth in the years ahead if not by increased productivity.
